A little bit of good news

Carrie (SMASH Project Worker) gave birth to young Lewis here, last week. All present and correct and all being well, going home in a week or so. We can’t wait to meet him!

London ‘08

The now yearly SMASH trip to London went off without a hitch (if you discount the rain) last week. Young people and mentors enjoyed a guided tour of the houses of parliament, really enjoyable and interesting although some of the boys seemed rather more interested in Alexis our tour guide than the centre of British democracy. Then lunch at Planet Hollywood, a slightly soggy bus-2.JPGopen top bus tour and a boat trip to Greenwich. A really enjoyable day. Thanks to everyone who made it possible particularly Michael Wills MP and even more particularly his assistant, the extremely patient Alexis.

You may notice a camera crew on the back of the tour boat. One of our mentees is being filmed for a documentary commissioned by the educational think tank, Edge (www.edge.co.uk). I hope to have a little more to tell you about that in the not too distant future.
